Underbelly Public Arts Lab + Festival is back for its second year! Applications are in, artists have been selected and stay tuned for our program launch later this month.Part band camp, part fringe festival, Underbelly brings scores of edgy, emerging and experimental artists together to collaborate, rehearse, build, workshop and create a diverse program of work.

The Public Lab 3 - 10 July

200 artists bring their projects to Carriageworks and its surrounds transforming the area into a hub of creative activity.

Daily visits to the lab offer a unique experience to look behind the scenes at art in the making.

The Festival 12 & 13 July

Help us celebrate with a monstronous two day festival showcasing the performances, installations and works in progress.

The Underbelly Exchange: free talks program

Join us for thought-provoking conversation and informative sessions over our 'Lab Weekend' Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July. The Underbelly Exchange includes sessions on Creative Commons Licensing; the navigation between art, craft, design and technology; and Producing for the Arts. From 4pm – 10pm on LAB SATURDAY, July 5, the CarriageWorks foyer will become a marketplace for emerging Sydney artists and designers to sell their wares.
